老年公寓在设计中要把握几个尺度:

第一、通道部分--在各个使用功能空间之间连接部分的过道宽度一般保持在净宽1.8M，这样既可以步行通过也可以轮椅通过;

第三、楼梯设置，建筑设计专项规范《老年人建筑设计规范》-JGJ 122-99，《老年人居住建筑设计标准》-GB/T 50340-2003，中规定楼梯踏步宽度不应小于0.30m，踏步高度不应大于0.15m，不宜小于0.13m。这也是典型的人性化设计，而且在建筑层数上面也有相应的限制，例如层数不得高于3层，三层以上则需设置电梯等等。
